This Clive homeowner adopted a dog named Bean, who had ample amounts of energy and consequently created a muddy mess in the backyard. To solve the backyard mud issues, we created a sidewalk for Bean to run on. This dimensional paver combination created an affordable paver walkway that has a lot more appeal than a simple, boring concrete walkway would have created.
Since this specific house was a walkout basement, the elevation change to get to the side gate required that we install landscape steps. These black steps complimented the black paver accent along the walkway bringing the entire landscape together. In addition to the walkway keeping the mud at bay, we also installed Iowa Buff flagstone steppers along the backyard perimeter. The steppers were installed close enough that bean could step between them, but installed far enough away that grass could be planted between them to keep as much greenery in the backyard as possible.
