Importance of Patio Cleaning and Sealing for Long-Term Beauty and Durability
Your patio is an essential part of your outdoor living space, providing a place to relax, entertain, and enjoy the...
We provide and install endless types of pavers to make your driveway, sidewalk, walkway or patio stand out from the ordinary. Our landscape designers and installers can provide various styles including brick pavers, concrete pavers, natural flagstone, and decorative stone for your area.
We source supplies from many Iowa landscape supply companies to provide unique Iowa outdoor products for your landscape.
All of our pavers are professionally installed on top of paver base and topped with polymeric sand which prevents weeds from growing between the pavers. Let us create the perfect space for that new patio furniture, barbecue or fire pit.
Pavers come in a lot of styles, shapes and colors. With paver patios, we can incorporate multiple colors, multiple shapes and create intricate designs. With pavers we can also add accent borders and create a lot of visual interest.
Paver installation is a delicate task that requires more labor than concrete. With concrete patios, a company will show up, remove the soil, place forms, pour the concrete, level the concrete, and walk away from the job. With pavers, we still have to prep the area by removing the soil but we also have to lay each and every paver one by one. We also tend to have more intricate designs with paver patios than concrete patios.
No, we only install paver, wet cast, and natural stone patios.
If installed properly, no. When TeBock’s installs patios, we build them in a way that they are not likely to shift. We remove 6-12 inches of soil and use heavy compaction equipment to compact limestone base which acts as the bedding layer for the pavers. We also incorporate multiple layers of geo-textile fabric which holds the paver base together and helps resist movement of your patio.
Not long ago, paver joints used to be filled with regular sand. This sand would wash out and need to be replaced annually. Recent innovations in the hardscape industry have created a new sand called polymeric sand. This is a “morter” type sand that once activated with water turns into an adhesive product that hardens like concrete between the pavers. While the polymeric sand is a hard product, it is designed to look like sand. It is also available in multiple colors including gray, tan and black.
Yes, if installed properly, a paver patio can hold the weight of a hot tub. When installing a hot tub, we install an extra deep base layer and extra layers of geotextile fabric to help keep a stable base with the added weight on the patio surface.
Yes, any type of walkway, patio, seating area, driveway and even city streets can utilize pavers.
Yes, we can create landings and steps using pavers. Steps are usually created rounded bullnose pavers which are available in many of the same colors as the pavers.
Wet cast pavers are concrete products that are molded to resemble specific options. For example, we have access to pavers which are molded to look like planks of wood and natural flagstone.
No, not unless specifically requested. We build all of our patios to have a minimum of 1/8 inch of slope per linear foot. In cases where water drainage might be an issue, we can slope patios up to ¼ inch per linear foot.
Permeable pavers generally have larger gaps or joints between each brick. This allows for water to flow between the pavers and percolate into the soil beneath the patio. Non-permeable pavers have tighter joints and are usually filled with polymeric sand which does not allow water to flow between the joints.
Yes, all of our paver patios have a five year materials and labor warranty.
Yes, even if installed by another contractor or a diy project, we can help. The key to a long lasting patio is in the subbase and the prep before pavers a laid.
Yes, many of our patios include either wood or natural gas firepits. We build the firepits out of specific stone which can withstand the heat of the fire and not crack over time due to extreme temperatures.
