This raised patio in Ankeny created a backyard that the entire family could enjoy. A steep slope in the backyard limited the ability to create a level patio.
To create this landscape, we constructed a three-piece retaining wall to create a level terrace allowing this stunning patio to be constructed. Using subtle colors that blend with the house and a black paver accent, we were able to create a family friendly, usable patio.
The circle accent was created without a permanent firepit making this space considerably more flexible allowing a movable firepit or patio furniture to be placed in the area.
To really set off this patio, we also constructed a raised vegetable garden right on the edge of the patio allowing the entire family to garden and harvest fresh produce.
